Me riding a collection of DM's unis.
A meeting of unicyclists, a chance to ride other peoples unicycles, and if you're in luck a chance to ride unicycles that a manufacturer has bought along with him... Here's me, doing just that.

A four wheeled unicycle ? - people ask "what's that ?" surely if it has 4 wheels it is not a unicycle ? Well if only one wheel touches the ground (which it should if ridden correctly !) then it is indeed a unicycle ! What's it like to ride ? Well given I'm not much of a hot-shot on a giraffe (having only ridden once a 5' around a hall) it was a bit of a challenge. The height, I believe is about the equivalent of a 5' giraffe. But there's a little more weight invloved and more importantly there is a considerable resistance of the tyres as they transmit the motion. Anyway after several attemps and a few bruises I got underway, for about 20yrds when I chose to get off having decided I'd conquered it. Tanat however rode it a good 50yds forwards then backwards. All good clean fun. If you want your own, contact

Redefining the term '6-foot' unicycle, here is a uncicyle with 6-feet instead of a wheel. The 'wheel' is a large wooden disc, cut into foot-ankle shapes with real slippers glued on. It looks great, however its not the most agile to ride, its on the heavy side and on the rough stuff a little harsh on your bodily components. Getting used to the width of the frame also takes a little getting used to too. Anyway, he's me riding it:

And then, there's the inevitable so called 'Big Wheel', before the Coker 36" Uni, this was more or less what you got - a hard rubber tyre with homemade rims. Still it took me a good few attempts to get going, once on I discovered that getting up to speed was a little harder than anticipated, the sheer weight of the wheel makes tunrning somewhat fun, and I'm sure there's some evil forces of Physics at work too (experiment - take one bike wheel, hold at axle, spin fast in your hands now try and tilt 90degs, funny forces at play, you see). Anyway it makes me want one, to have and to hold, cherish and love, oh dear, seems like my forthcoming wedding is coming to mind again, anyway, again, me on another uni: DM 42" Ringmaster. Nice.

Very nice Simon, take me back to the
